Hello, I’m Astrologer Patrick Arundell, and here is your Astrology Overview for WC 20th July 2020. As the week begins we have a New Moon in the sign of Cancer. Ordinarily this would be an opportunity for us to reboot our emotional perspective, and in truth it still can be.
The issue however is that Saturn, the planet of structure, boundaries, limitations, but also discipline sits in direct opposition to the Moon. This combination can create a coolness, a challenge in expressing warmth or sensitivity, a feeling of inhibition. Ironically, being the second New Moon in Cancer (after the Eclipse of 21st June) it is called a Black Moon. So, whilst the influence is not going to turn decent folk into being unresponsive or uncaring, just in subtle but powerful ways some interactions may not flow as easily or comfortably.
Further, the event chart for the New Moon of 5:32 PM UCT Greenwich, sees Saturn Jupiter and Pluto all in the 1st House (Sagittarius Ascendant) a combination which by its very nature is about the self, the body, and about the way we assimilate information. So this New Moon I believe is going to be much more Capricorncentric so the more restrictive energies of Saturn which governs Capricorn, can dominate over the next month. Now, the power and potency of the Solar Eclipse which occurred on 21 June, is still cascading its energy into our situations, so if we wish to pursue a more nurturing way of being that is still available to us. Perhaps the restrictive energies of Saturn does is more than anything else that the more material parts of our existence at the moment are properly being challenged more strongly than any time since the Second World War and our concern over jobs, income, and the basic structure of society would be well-founded.
Still, this is a week which also sees the highly spiritual combination of Jupiter and Neptune continue to ask is to try to raise our vibration. Also Venus and Mars retain a playful interface and most delightfully the Sun returns to the sign that it governs, on Wednesday, Leo, which can provide a warming shot of energy to revitalise and rejuvenate, and encourage us to overcome any challenge and be committed to expressing our sense of creativity, playfulness and embrace increased vitality. To be truthful, I feel that the real upside of the sign moving into Leo will be apparent by the end of the way when he has escaped the wider opposition of Saturn even in Leo, and Mercury ends its shadow period on Sunday which began on 2nd June.
